Virginia Museum of Natural History

Ryan Barber serves as Deputy Director and Director of Advancement at the Virginia Museum of Natural History. With over 20 years of experience leading comprehensive non-profit advancement programs, Barber also has extensive government relations experience at the local, state and federal levels. He earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a masters in mass communication from Oklahoma State University. He also earned a certificate in non-profit management from Duke University, and has held the Certified Fundraising Professional (CFRE) credential since 2013.  He resides in Danville, Virginia with his wife, Amber, and his two sons, Lleyton and Braeden.
